Mel Hughlett's family heritage dates back to the Hon. Frederick Douglass who was self-liberated (translated escaped) in the decades preceding Emancipation. Mel worked hard in school and in sports resulting in him reaching the highest level of his chosen sport - The National Basketball Association’s Seattle Supersonics. After retiring from Professional Basketball, Mel entered corporate management where he excelled and over time moved into upper management.
After meeting David, Mel expressed his interest in becoming an entrepreneur and stating his own business. Through David's help and encouragement in the areas of Brand Awareness, Marketing and Financing Mel was able to successfully launch a Business to Business solutions organization – Blue Bird Solutions – that provides logistics and supply chain distribution support on a national scale. Bluebird's clients enjoy global solutions from a 'single point of contact' as they unite customers with the resources and products that help them meet the demands of their target markets.
